Our Role

This is a new role within our People Team, reporting to the Learning and Development Manager and is responsible for establishing our approach to technical skills development within the DC. It will be responsible for both the design and delivery of training interventions focused on developing the broad technical skills of all DC colleagues.

The role will expected to identify and develop training champions to support with coaching and delivery and establish and maintain a proficient standard across all DC operatives across all shift patterns.

Another key focus is to forge and build strong relationships with Senior and First level Line Management with a focus on people development, enabling us to create and develop a culture in which everyone has the opportunity to realise their potential. In addition to ensure our managers develop behaviors to establish a culture of coaching across the DC.

Duties and Responsibilities  (Please refer to full Job Description for all Duties and Responsibilities) 

  • In conjunction with the L&D Manager, develop a learning strategy for success in peak and beyond, that develops and maintains a high standard of technical competence of all colleagues within the DC (both agency and perm)
  • Understand the TWC brand and interpret it, ensuring it runs through every piece of training material, communication and initiative - ensuring relevance and appropriateness to deliver defined learning objectives
  • Oversee the delivery of all technical skills training with the DC (mainly delivered by training champions)
  • Develop a system for evaluating the success of technical skills training within the DC to maximize transfer of learning and maintain the highest standards of proficiency. 
  • Manage key stakeholders across the Distribution Centre

  • CIPD or similar qualifications desirable
